For those who cope with rejection with ease, what should we do?

I wish I could take back all the long paragraphs I sent when I was in a state of profound post-rejection stress. It is literally not necessary. I've known this for a long time, and I still do it, time and time again.

Something about that moment pushes you to over-explain and over-analyze things you should take at face value. Sometimes the other person is rejecting us very clearly, and one reacts by saying something different, varying up the words to see if they work like a magic spell and the person comes running back into our arms.

At this point, I think I should have a rejection (i.e., a breakup, a fight, or someone saying no to a date you proposed) book protected by a glass meant to be broken only in emergencies.

The book should advise you against sending long paragraphs, giving yourself bangs, or dyeing your hair. Maybe we could learn to cope by practicing self-care? That could be a good way to go about it.
